About Us

Network of Support for Community Living is a comprehensive, Internet-based community resource for the adults with disabilities and seniors, as well as their caregivers and service providers.

This easy-to-use Web site provides an extensive directory to put people in touch with the right services at the right time. It also offers vital information about diseases, situations, assistive devices and caregiving, as well as daily news from around the world concerning aging and disabilities. This unique, one-stop information tool enables you to keep personal records, create an online family meeting place, and communicate directly with elected officials to make your voice heard in the legislative halls.

The San Francisco Network of Support for Community Living Web site is provided by the County of San Francisco, Human Services Agency, Department of Aging and Adult Services. The San Francisco Network of Support for Community Living is part of the Network of Care family of Web sites. Much attention has been given to customizing this site for San Francisco, but in some cases it is not possible to make changes that impact the nationwide system.

What makes the San Francisco site different? Well, mainly the name of the site, Network of Support for Community Living. The San Francisco Department of Aging and Adult Services spent months collecting community input about this Web site and what would make it feel right for San Francisco. The use of the word "care" was not always welcome by everyone in our community and we want to be inclusive and welcoming to all who visit our site. We are constantly trying to improve what we do and welcome your input.
